Tag Question

We need a clear conception on auxiliary verb and pronoun.

1. Auxiliary Verb:

To be verb

To do verb

do, does, did

To have verb

2. Pronoun                                                                                      : I, we, you, he, she, it, they, one, there

11. tag question সর্বদা auxiliary verb দ্বারা শুরু হয়।

10. একমাত্র Subject অনুযায়ী verb প্রভাবিত/পরিবর্তন হয়।

3. Some basic rules:        If statement is affirmative             : auxiliary +n’t + pronoun of subject +?

If statement is negative                 : auxiliary  + pronoun of subject+?

Example: You worked hard, didn’t you? I ought to respect our elders, oughtn’t I? We should learn English, shouldn’t we? Fishes cannot fly, can they? The man would do it, wouldn’t he?

For Imperative sentence

4. সাধারনত Imperative sentences শুরু হয়  verb, let, please, kindly, always, don’t, never দিয়ে।
(a) Let us/ let’s থাকলে  = shall we? বসে                        Let us discuss the topic, shall we? Let’s have a party, shall we?
(b) Let me/him/her/them থাকলে =will you? বসে      Let me discuss it, will you? Let them have a party, will you?
(c) Rest of all Imperative sentences থাকলে =will you/won’t you? বসে              Open the door, will you/won’t you?
(d) Offer(সম্মতি)  or invitation(আমন্ত্রন) বোঝালে = won’t you? বসে
5. Statement এ যদি কোন Auxiliary Verb  না থাকে তাহলে To do verb বসাতে হবে।
